Shrink Wrap Recycling Just Got BiggerEvery spring, thousands of boats in Michigan are unwrapped — and that shrink wrap has to go somewhere. That’s where Recycle Run comes in.
In partnership with Dr. Shrink, Inc. and the Michigan Recycling Coalition (MRC), Bay Area Recycling for Community (BARC) helps boaters across the state responsibly recycle used shrink wrap and keep plastic out of our landfills and waterways.

How to Participate

1. Buy Your EZ Fill Recycle Run Bags
Each bag includes pick-up, haul-away, and recycling — all from your location.

Bag Capacity
Each industrial-sized bag can hold 1 large wrap (up to 32′ boat) OR 1–3 smaller wraps. Each bag has a zip tie to seal the bag.

2. Register for the Program
Registration is due by June 2nd, 2025. Fill out this website form to register. If you prefer a physical registration form? Please email jplant@michiganrecycles.org.

3. Meet the Bag Minimum for Pick-Up

Lower Peninsula: 15 bag minimum

Upper Peninsula: 70 bag minimum

4. Have Fewer Than 15 Bags?
If you’re recycling less than 15 boat shrink wraps, you’ll need to drop off your filled bags at a participating Michigan drop-off location.

5. Pick-Up Scheduling
Our Program Coordinators will reach out to schedule your pickup between June and August 2025.
