Composting

From Organic Waste to Nutrient-Filled Soil

A critical part of creating a cleaner, greener region is tackling the growing problem of food waste. This can be done with the process of composting. Every year, each American throws out about 1,200 pounds of organic garbage that can be composted.

BARC currently composts over 600,000 lbs. of food waste each year.

BARC currently is unable to accept meat mixed in with our organic food waste, please separate meat into its own bag for a separate downstream composting program.

Notice: Currently, we have reached our capacity to collect and compost organic material. However, we are working hard to increase our capacity. If you are interested in benefiting from and helping BARC grow our composting program please add your information to our wait-list.
